The Trio

Okay, I'm so excited to show you these!!! (I'm going to paste this same description to three different related drawings, so please do not be confused!)

I took some time and did three beautiful portraits of three very important pets. The silvery tabby cat is called Sissi and belongs to my mom. The brown tabby cat was called Jörö and was my mom's and mine (he passed away some time ago, I'm still really sad , he was so wonderful cat). The bernese mountain dog is my sister's, her name is Alicia. These drawings were made as surprise summer-gifts for mom and my sister. It was such a pleasure to both draw them and to give them away! It is empowering to make someone so happy! Especially the portrait of Jörö, he was so dear to us and I already did a watercolor of him for myself some years back... My mom has always wanted to keep that painting, but of course I want him to hang on my wall in a place of honor to remember him. So I made my mom quite happy by finally giving here a memorial piece for herself!

It was nice to do some pet-portraits because my main focus is usually horses. I can do pets just as well, and I must say I enjoyed them every bit as much - or maybe even a bit more, considering this trio is quite close to me. It was also nice to work quickly and leave the roughness of the pastels showing in the finished pieces. It didn't take me more than 2,5 hours to finish one piece, so these were real quickies! But I still think they are impressive, portrait the subjects very well and will be every bit as valuable to my mom and sister! Oh, I love them <3
